Returns, withdrawal and refunds

In short: if you buy a lamp at a distance (online, on WhatsApp, by email or by phone) you have 14 days from delivery to change your mind and return it, without giving any reason. We refund the full amount you paid, including the original shipping, within 14 days.

1. Right of withdrawal: 14 days

If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of the day you receive the lamp, under articles 52 and following of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005), which implements EU Directive 2011/83/EU.

To do so, just tell us clearly, by email to info@placidalettisluce.com or on WhatsApp, with your name, the product (name or code) and the delivery date. You can use this text:

"I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: [lamp name or code], ordered on [date] and received on [date]. Name: [...]. Address: [...]. Date: [...]."

2. How to return the lamp

• After your notice, we email you the address to ship the lamp to.
• You have 14 days from your notice to send it back.
• The lamp must be returned complete and well packed: these are one-of-a-kind and often fragile pieces.
• Return shipping costs are paid by the customer, unless the lamp arrived damaged or not as described.
• You are only liable for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to check its nature and how it works.

3. Refund

• We refund the full price and the original standard shipping cost within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice.
• We may wait until we have received the lamp, or proof that you have sent it, before refunding.
• We refund using the same payment method you used, unless agreed otherwise, at no cost to you.

4. Lamp damaged in transit or not as described

Every lamp is packed with care and, before shipping, we can send you photos or videos of the actual piece. If the parcel or the lamp is damaged on arrival, please let us know, ideally within 48 hours, with a few photos of the parcel and the lamp. In these cases we pay for the return shipping and offer repair, replacement with an equivalent piece if available, or a full refund.

5. Warranty on restored pieces

Our lamps are original period objects: signs of age, patina and small imperfections are part of the piece and are shown in the photos, so they are not defects. The wiring, which we redo ourselves, is covered by the legal guarantee of conformity under the Italian Consumer Code. As these are second-hand goods, the guarantee lasts 12 months from delivery. If anything goes wrong, write to us and we will sort it out together.

6. Special cases

• Purchases made in person (at our showroom by appointment or at markets and fairs): the distance-selling right of withdrawal does not apply, because you see and try the lamp before buying. Contact us anyway if there is any problem.
• Custom work, such as modifications, custom colours or wiring: since it is made to your specifications, it is excluded from the right of withdrawal (art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code).
• Business customers buying with a VAT number: the legal right of withdrawal does not apply. Contact us and we will find a solution together.
